Since their arrival in Kathmandu, our volunteers, Valérie and Marc, are working in a refugee camp of 2,000 people who have either lost their house or who for security reasons, cannot return to their homes that were damaged by the quake.

Yesterday our volunteers visited two villages, Sipadol and Gundu, to identify the composition of the population and see the extent of damage from the disaster. After contacting a local leader, they found that the most urgent needs were First aid, access to clean water, and proper housing.

Indeed, some had their houses destroyed, but also, many villagers who still have their homes are afraid to stay there, fearing it would collapse. This is why many of them sleep in their greenhouses, disrupting their mushroom production, the village’s main source of income. The Monsoon season is fast approaching; People affected must have shelter.
