NEPAL UPDATE – April 29

Last night, our first volunteers left for Nepal, with everything needed to purify and distribute drinking water. They will arrive in Kathmandu on Thursday morning where they will join GlobalMedic and our local partners on site. We wish a very successful mission to our volunteers Anna Tyszkiewicz (our Asia program manager), Valerie Gauthier and Marc Lussier. Thank you for your commitment in helping the earthquake victims.

The most recent death toll number is around 5000 deceased. Moreover, the authorities fear that the whole is at more than 10,000. According to the UN, 8 million people are affected by the disaster and 1.4 million people need food aid. Yesterday, tremors were still being felt.
